What to expect at your Prom photoshoot

Let’s be honest — prom sneaks up on you.

One minute, you're tying their shoelaces and packing snacks for school trips… the next, they’re standing in front of you, all dressed up, looking somehow older and younger at the same time. A little more grown, a little more ready. And you're wondering how you got here so fast.

You’ll snap a few quick photos on your phone in the driveway, maybe wipe away a sneaky tear as they laugh with friends. And those photos? You’ll treasure them, of course. But there’s something incredibly special about pressing pause and capturing this moment — properly.

Because prom isn’t just a school dance.

It’s a once-in-a-lifetime milestone.

It’s the last of the “firsts.”

It’s the night they’ll remember, and one you’ll never forget.

As a professional photographer (and a soft-hearted human who’s cried behind the camera more than once), I’m here to document it all — the nerves, the excitement, the proud smiles, the silly poses, the golden light. The fleeting magic of this in-between moment where they’re not quite grown… but almost.
